On the piste

Having a fantastic time in Grindelwald. About half a metre of snow fell the night before we arrived, making the skiing simply perfect.

Responses

  1. They’re taking the piss these skiing folk! Do you pay money for going up a moountain and then sliding down it? Dearie me! Where did the sunshine and all the half naked women go? Hotboy

  2. The snow fell here as well! Everybody stayed in! Hotboy

  3. Hi Hotboy. The lift pass costs about 200 pounds for the week. Well worth it, though. We have covered many miles of piste.

  4. Two hundred pounds! They’re not taking the piste then? Maybe you should review the beverages imbibed apres and whilst on the piste! Hotboy

  5. Reading between the lines, your post implies you haven’t broken any bones, at least not up to the date of publishing. That must be a big help.

Hotters, there are joes in Malawi who would give millions of Malawian ringits to see snow.

  6. Hi Hotboy and Rob,

    No bones broken!

The reason why the lift passes cost that much is because there’s about 180 kilometres of piste, and they all need to be maintained. This means people are out all night on machines preparing them, and there are also many tows, chairlifts and gondolas to maintain and operate.

  7. The reason why they cost so much is because someone is raking in ten percent off the top. It’s not a charity to get old codgers frozen to death, is it? Hotboy

  8. It’s worth every penny, Hotboy. I gather you don’t ski?

  9. Great pictures. If you see Peter Higgs in Edinburgh, tell him he is a jerk.
