12 Things, from members of the East of England Health Information Skills Trainers (EEHIST), is a shorter version of 23 Things.
23 Things is an extremely popular, and really useful, free self-directed ‘course’ which introduces library staff to Web 2.0, Library 2.0, and various new technologies. I’ve noticed many library & information professionals’ blog posts about 23 Things, and they obviously find the course helpful and informative. It covers blogs, Twitter, current awareness, referencing, promotion and so on, and encourages participants to try things out for themselves.
12 Things is a shorter self-directed course. I noticed it mainly because Thing 2 about Keeping Up To Date mentioned JournalTOCs, and I’ve seen that several people following the course have been finding JournalTOCs very useful.
12 Things looks to be very good. Some of the people participating have registered their blogs on the Participating Blogs page.
