When it comes to decoration, this house is a bit like the Forth Bridge. Sometimes I feel that as soon as I finish one end of it, it’s time to start again at the beginning.
The most recent work I’ve been doing is to the bathroom. As you can see from the photo below, this is badly in need of redecoration. So far I’ve painted the window, cupboards and ceiling, but the bath will need to be re-enamelled, we may need a new basin to replace the existing cracked one, and we’ll need new flooring, so I’m not going to redecorate the walls or paint the skirting boards until we know about those jobs. Just now, the walls are a strange orange with white patches.

That’s a good-sized ladder. Could I borrow it?
Standing on the top rung is slightly too high for me, but necessary to reach the ceilings, which are 14ft up in some rooms.
