The Tall Thin One is far too generous. After a meal for four in a Spanish restaurant near Tollcross, during which the waitress became quite annoyed with our table because some of those involved could not make up their minds about what to eat, and when we later had to ask for more bread and tap water, he wanted to leave a tip of £16
Fortunately, I don’t have to deal with such matters directly. I pay the house bills, whilst Lindsey pays for the entertainment, so I’m usually able to keep my wallet in my pocket when we go out.
No Longer Grim Jim would be physically sick at even the thought of leaving a tip of that size. Which is probably why he’s only ever eaten in a restaurant twice.
Lindsey eats her food very quickly. In the photo, you can see that (at top right) she’s nearly finished her plate, and I haven’t even photographed my food.
I later heard the Tall Thin One talking to the manager of the restaurant. “The food was very nice, but too salty” he said, “And the menu was a bit difficult to understand.”

How much was the bill?
It was expensive £124.65
Including wine, one hopes.
The cellmate can wolf her food down during my first mouthful. Fancy racing the fillies?
Two bottles of Rioja = £33.90
