I’ve blogged about the saga in four posts so far. And, believe it or not, the saga has a happy ending!
The insurers sent me a letter saying that they were unable to trace details of the Third Party involved in the collision and that therefore they were unable to pursue a recovery of either their outlay or my uninsured losses, and that they have closed their file.
However, a week later, the company dealing with the policy excess sent me a letter with an enclosed cheque for the full policy excess of £250, with an extra tenner for ‘miscellaneous expenses’. They have now also closed their file.
Fantastic! Now, my faith in all of this is restored, the insurance sector can get on with other business, and I can file my considerable collection of incident numbers.
