I was checking a few things with respect to scholarly journal RSS feeds and what I’ve said about them in the past, and discovered in an old post the following:
American Journal of Psychiatry TOC feed has over 1,500 subscribers via Reader.
Well, that figure is now 1,877
| Feed URL: | http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/rss/current.xml |
| Subscribers: | 1,877 |
| Last updated: | 8:58 PM (8 minutes ago) A parsing error was encountered. |
But – can you believe this…The American Journal of Psychiatry has changed the address of its feed (hence the parsing error mentioned above). Links from that feed now go to a site saying:
Your action has resulted in an error. Please click the Back button in your browser and try again.
That’s a lot of people (1,877 to be precise), who will be inconvenienced, and is rubbish!
The RSS feed is now to be found at http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/rss/site_4/13.xml
Those who use JournalTOCs to follow journals such as this one (or the other four titles published by American Psychiatric Publishing) will not be inconvenienced, however, as I’ve just updated the feeds in the JournalTOCs database, and Followers via JournalTOCs will not have to do anything to continue to scan the latest contents.
