After Kinlochewe, we spent one night in Gairloch before proceeding to Applecross for the kayak course. The weather was OK, and before the day’s cycle ride we had coffee in The Mountain Coffee Company cafe.
This is my kind of place! The coffee was good, the enormous scones were superb, the decor was very interesting, the layout was cool, but most of all what caught my eye was the bookshop which is attached to the cafe. Within the cafe there’s a display of a sample of books, and outside the bookshop there’s a blackboard with selected names of authors. For some reason, Charles Bukowski was listed twice on the blackboard. I lost count of the authors that I’ve read. They have a super collection of books. I wanted to buy tons, but restricted myself to two (reports to follow).
We cycled down to the harbour, and then on to the Badachro Inn, for a reviver
