We ate several meals in the Applecross Inn, and enjoyed every one of them. One evening, the place was stoved out, we were late in arriving and we were worried that we might not get fed. Not to worry, though, as Judy the manager takes care of everyone. Despite serving several hundred meals some evenings, she seems to be able to remember everyone’s name.
When the place is busy, you just join an existing table and order food. Everyone talks to everyone else, and we had nice conversations with a retired couple who were touring the west in a Landrover with a tent on top (like they use in South Africa), a couple of teachers (one of whom was in raptures when eating half a lobster), and a younger couple who were due to get married in September.
What could be better than eating fine food, then looking across to a wonderful sunset?
