Enjoyed 18 holes at Lothianburn Golf Course with No Longer Grim Jim this afternoon. I understand that, like many golf courses nowadays, Lothianburn is finding it difficult to make ends meet, but their cause would be much helped if there was a decent sign indicating the existence of the course, on the left hand side of the A702 road going south.
The course was very dry, which meant that decent drives bounced along for many yards. It is a hilly course, and often, after bouncing along, the ball ends up downhill in the rough. I had a number of quite good drives, and nearly had a par at the massively long 580 yard 14th hole. My putting was poor. NLG hit a lot of excellent drives.
