On Wednesday we’d intended to cycle from Dalrigh up past Cononish, and then climb Ben Lui, but in the event the weather was poor, so we turned back at the end of the track. Ben Lui is too complicated and craggy a mountain for us to go up, unless the visibility is good.
There used to be lead mines in this area, and there is still gold in the Tyndrum area.
The next day the weather had improved, but there was still mist on the top of Ben Lui, so instead we climbed Beinn an Dòthaidh, just to the east of Bridge of Orchy.
From the top, there was a wonderful view over Rannoch Moor.
